Discover the Magic of Farm Animals

Animal Science Classes

Painted Bay Farm offers numerous unique opportunities for students and families to interact with the animals and environment to promote active engagement in their learning to deepen their understanding of subject matter.

Each class will include hands-on lessons where students will be given the tools, materials, and detailed instructions to learn about unique areas of animal science, perform experiments, make crafts, and participate in physical activities and games.

Activities will be STEAM - focused and designed to fit into any homeschool or public school curriculum.

Each class is taught by Patty Pantelione, owner of Painted Bay Farm, who retired from teaching after 32 years in the NJ Public School system with the New Jersey Teacher of Science Certification grades K -12. Patty has owned horses and been involved in several horse and livestock organizations, as well as the Rutgers 4-H Program, for over 40 years.

We incorporate active games and activities into the lessons, designed to get your child moving!

Each lesson will concentrate on animal science topics, with a specific emphasis on farm animals. Lessons will be designed to be age appropriate for your child. Information on books (many are available at the library or where to purchase links), and website links to additional videos will be provided.

Lessons will incorporate a project and experimental activity relevant to the subject matter. All necessary materials for these lessons are common household items so you can recreate at home. Many of the children have asked to take additional materials home to show the experiments to family members.

Each lesson incorporates the animals of the farm. Here, you can get up close with the animals for a unique, interactive animal science lesson.
